The play is a fictionalized account of the story of Mendel Beiliss, a Russian Jew who is accused of Ritual Murder in Kiev, 1913. He is suspected of killing a Christian child to use his blood for the Passover seder. After 2 years of imprisonment, Beiliss will finally have his trial. The world watches!
